The mascot of WWB

Burnie

It does not grow when someone buys. It grows when someone says thank you.
thank-yous burned, all time
Stage
reading the chain…

Counted from the burn metering contract on Optimism. Every thank-you counts once, whatever its size.

The one rule

Every thank-you is the same size.

A whale burning a million and a stranger burning ten both move Burnie by exactly one. There is no way to buy Burnie's growth, and no advantage to being large. This is not a limitation we accepted. It is the whole point of the project, drawn as a rabbit.

Most token mascots grow with price, or with holders, or with money raised. Burnie cannot, because none of those are things anyone did for another person. Burnie counts acts.

The number above is the count of recorded thank-yous that have been marked by burning WWB, read from the metering contract on Optimism. It only goes up, it cannot be reset, and nobody, including us, can add to it without an actual act behind it.

Stages are decoration. They confer nothing, unlock nothing and are worth nothing. Burnie is a shared picture of what everyone did, not a reward.

Where it came from

The bubble that caught fire.

The flames on its ears are not damage. That part came from other people.

Before Burnie, the mark was only a speech bubble. A thank-you that had not been said yet. It sat on the token and waited, the way an unsent message waits.

The first time somebody actually said it, and let a little supply go to mark that they meant it, the bubble caught light. It turned out the bubble had been flammable the whole time. Nobody had tested it, because nobody had said anything yet.

It grew ears, to hear the next one coming. It grew feet, because the thank-yous were happening in places, and it wanted to be there. The fire settled at the tips of its ears and stayed, which is why Burnie is warm to be near and completely useless as a candle.

It eats nothing. It cannot be bought, sold, staked or farmed. It has no wallet. If every holder in the world doubled their bags tomorrow, Burnie would not grow by one hair. It grows on one input only, and that input is somebody, somewhere, saying thank you and meaning it enough to let something go.

Which means Burnie is not ours.

It is the shape of everyone's thank-yous, added up and given ears. We drew it. You are the one feeding it. That is the only arrangement we would be comfortable with, because a mascot that we could grow by ourselves would be a mascot that means nothing.

Burnie's body is the official Wowoo mark, unmodified. We add a face, ears and feet, and take nothing away. The mark is a speech bubble because the whole ecosystem is about something being said.

Say thank you on Robinhood Chain.

WWB lives on Robinhood Chain as well as Optimism. On this chain a thank-you is recorded by sending WWB to the dead address from your own wallet: nobody receives it, and it leaves circulation. You sign it. We never hold your keys and there is nothing to approve beyond the transfer itself.

Connect the wallet that holds your WWB. We never see your keys and we cannot move anything ourselves.
Choose how much to let go. Any amount. The count treats every thank-you the same, so ten is as good as ten thousand.
Sign one transfer. The WWB goes to the dead address. Nobody receives it.

Works in a browser with an injected wallet, such as MetaMask on desktop or the in-app browser of a mobile wallet. We will add Robinhood Chain to your wallet if it is not there yet.

Where the words go. A transfer carries no message, so this window burns without one. If you want to say what you are thankful for, and where, that belongs on THANKS Map, which records the words and the place. This window is the plain version for people who just want to mark it on this chain.

One honest note about this chain. WWB here is a representation of WWB locked on Optimism. Sending it to the dead address removes it from circulation here and permanently strands the matching WWB inside the Optimism adapter. It is a burn on both chains, not a trick of accounting on one.

What this does not count toward. Burnie's number above comes from the metering contract on Optimism. A burn made here is real and permanent, and it shows in the figure at the top of this section, but it does not move Burnie yet. Wiring this chain into that count is the next thing we build, and we would rather say so than let you assume.

What Burnie is not

No, there is no Burnie token.
